Inspirational Haiku:

I like shoes without

laces because enough things

in life come untied

-By Justin Phillips

From this Haiku I took the theme of broken/breaking. I experimented a lot with this poster exploring many avenues in the Gestalt principles but came to the result of proximity, shape and size.
The movie Bonds is about the life story of a young African American boy and how he grows up. the movie follows his life from an early age to ultimately his downfall. Its a story of friendships, love and loss.
when you think of a rose you would most likely connect love and relationships, and when picturing a rose most don't depict it to be withering away but more or less being healthy and strong. The reason I chose the rose fading away or withering was through the word untied. As said before the rose flower is often used in the aspect(s) of love within relationships, however, the word untied stuck to me in the aspect of bonds between people becoming broken or lost, especially friendships, love relationships and family ties. I thought of giving a deeper meaning to the plain image that there is relationships of all 3 being lost between the main protagonist as he begins to grow within his dream career.
