Design Journey:

The design journey with my little brother's input along the way was an adventure in itself. The journey I could say was an eye-opener to the similarities and differences my brothers have between the two of them. The initial thoughts I had when given this assignment was very different from the outcome. I thought to myself I'm going to create this big awesome lamp which I did, but this slowly turned out to be a challenge.  So I began a long stretch of designing and constructing to the design previewed.

The Lamp is a stacked lamp that has two obvious hollows, and in these hollows, the top 3 faces of each hollow are to illuminate from the user's interactions with it. The user can manipulate the colour of the LEDs within the hollows by adjusting the RGB colour dials on the top of the lamp. One obvious feature is the orb on the top. The orb itself is a portable light that rests in a divot to charge when not in use. The lamp was also constructed to use the element of an Arduino circuit, which was a mission in itself to try code and learn.

My clients were both pleased with the outcome of the design, as it was "really cool" in their eyes and was able to fit the functionality for the environment which the lamp would be situated in.
