Inspirational Haiku:

I like shoes without

laces because enough things

in life come untied

-By Justin Phillips

In regards to creating this composition or poster, I had to find inspiration through the form of a Haiku. As I am quite of the sneaker head,I thought of trying to get a Haiku on shoes, and this I did. From this Haiku I took the theme of struggle, which I played around with, making the end result of a tensed type rubber band. As this was following our lecture on the Gestalt principles of design. I experimented with many avenues in the Gestalt principles but came to the result of proximity, shape and size.

With my visual one poster, the equipment I used was; sharpie and ruler. In the poster I want it to symbolize almost that of a rubber band. Hence why I draw the line almost to meet in the middle point but not quite touching. 9When you think of a rubber band you think of how the elastic of the band is stretchy, and as you stretch the band tension begins to grow as the fibers condense into an area. The image the poster is that of a rubber band but in the context of one's life and struggle. As you see the ends are wider than that of the middle, this is to represent the good things that are happening for them. However as time goes on, things become more challenging hence why the area of gap becomes smaller and smaller. The result of this is too show that no matter what when times get tough, there's always bound to be a greater end.
