The "Double Diamond" framework is a method to show how a problem starts, and what steps can be done to help eliminate or develop this. The framework for this process is split up into four phases. 'Discover' phase, 'Define' phase, the "Development" phase and the "Solution" phase. It almost a steps guide to allow the designer to start with the problem at hand, and then can begin to narrow down on ways to combat this problem, almost as a process of elimination to find the best solution. Through these four stages, the frameworks as almost split into smaller aspects.

The smaller aspects that follow the initial phases is really what enables the Designer to understand and gain insight on what the problems and needs the consumer is facing and having. I was lucky enough to be introduced to this framework week two of DES100.

In the week 2 DESIGN100 workshop, we were introduced to this framework, allowing us to gain a better way and understanding to asses a consumers situation and problem being faced, also taking there needs into consideration. We were given the task to complete a 'design sprint' for the this framework in a pressure like environment. The Design sprint required us to create a new wallet based on my partner(consumers) needs.

Being given the challenge to do something like this in a pressured environment with a small time frame, caused a bit of uneasiness as it was something different and new. However once the ball started rolling we were off. The interaction between me and my partner allowed me to get the best understanding, as i went deeper into the feeling and connections, rather than the basic attributes to the wallet. Once this stage was done and I had established a clear idea of what my partner/consumer wanted or so needed, i was onto prototyping.

Prototyping was a mission, however i was able to convey the wallet i was willing to produce for my partner/consumer. The image below was the outcome for my wallet design. Allowing the consumer sufficient card space, with a 'Bluetooth' chip the the left corner to allow him to find it of misplaced.
